Fr C, 2 & 4: Extra Credit!

May 18th, 2012 No comments

For those of you who would like to raise your grade on the Writing Clinic Quiz (or your overall grade – French 4), here’s an exercise to you can complete and turn in by MONDAY, 5/21/12le petit chaperon rouge

1. Fill in the acronymns for HIDE and STARS.  Above the lines, circle which tense is used with which acronym.

2. In the story exercise, you will see it formatted like this:  Ex, Elle (être) ____ (1) ____ gentille et jolie.

On the first blank (after the verb in parentheses), conjugate to verb, choosing the right tense (either the PC or Imparfait).  On the line AFTER the (#), write the letter from HIDE or STARS that explains why you chose that tense.

Answer: Ex, Elle (être) était (1) D (description in the past) gentille et jolie.

*** Use the file “Demistifying the Passé Composé and Imparfait” (from an earlier blog post) to help you with this exercise ***

May 3rd, 2012 No comments

Here’s the list of selected (and available) monuments.  Remember, you may trade with a classmate, if you mutually consent to do so.  Also, there are many other monuments that are not listed (i.e., le Parc de la Villette, le Musée Cluny, le Musée Rodin, le Musée Caranavalet, La Sainte Chappelle, la Défense, la Tour Saint Jacques, le Pont Neuf et les bateaux mouches ou les bouqinistes de la Seine, etc.)  You may ask me about some of those choices, should you wish to trade yours.

Here you’ll also find the intructions for the project, should you have lost yours. Create Your Own Parisian Monument

high-frequency-wordsHere’s a list of some of the most common French words. This is not an all-inclusive list, but it is useful for the early stages of language acquisition. Also to remember, there are grammar rules (such as contractions) and other applications (like conjugation) that apply to many of these. Please feel free to ask me, if you would like me to review them with you.
